What is Developmental Age (DA) and Developmental Quotient (DQ)?

Learn the core indicators of baby development assessment and track your baby's growth scientifically

What is Developmental Age (DA)

Developmental Age (DA) refers to the age level corresponding to your baby's actual developmental achievement.

Example:

If your baby is 12 months old but their developmental level (gross motor, language, etc.) only matches that of a 10-month-old, their developmental age is 10 months.

Developmental Age is a foundational indicator for assessing developmental progress.

What is Developmental Quotient (DQ)

Developmental Quotient (DQ) is the core indicator measuring your baby's developmental level, representing the ratio of developmental age to chronological age.

Formula:

DQ = DA ÷ Chronological Age × 100

Example: 12-month baby with DA of 10 months: DQ = 10 ÷ 12 × 100 = 83
